Nostradamus wrote about a possible comet hitting earth in 1999. It did not happen. We are still here. However a near earth asteroid 433 Eros, 10km across, is heading for earth. It will pass very close to earth,16.6 million miles in 2012. This is really close. Had it been a little closer ... you know what.
